We love great style and design, and we feel you should have a fabulous space regardless of how much square footage you have. So here is our quick guide on how to decorate a studio apartment:

  1. Don't pick a huge bed frame that will take up space. Go with headboards that are narrow and skip the foot-board all together.
  2. Select versatile pieces. Coffee table that also have storage capabilities, ottomans that can serve as side tables or sitting stools.
  3. Keep it bright, add lighting to help make the space appear larger than it is. Don't darken the space with fabrics
  4. Hidden storage, don't waste any space get creative with your storage ideas. Think about a bed that has storage space underneath or ottomans that have are shoe holders!
  5. Appearances matter, curtains, bedding, and rugs go a long way when dealing with a small space. Don't clutter the space with prints.

Eclectic Living Room

I came across this photo today and I just adore this room. This small space has been so beautifully decorated. The black and white drapes add sophistication and designer style. The pseudo-chandelier gives the room a young, fresh look; I've seen something similar at Bratt Decor. The dining table is like the Docksta table available at Ikea. I love that the table has been mixed with traditional wood chairs which have been painted white. The addition of the cushions definitely help elevate the look. The Hollywood Regency style bookshelf is a great stylish storage option, I found something similar at Home Decorators. Of course, what I think makes this space extra special is all of the unique art. The different styles and various frame types and sizes really help complete the eclectic look.

Neon Art

Neon Art is making a come back in the art world, and this trend is currently hot in cities like Paris, London and New York. Vibrant colors, expressive characters and fun objects, Neon Art references contemporary culture giving insight into banal events of everyday life. It is both a source of critique and amusement for the ordinary person. Neon Art talks in the languages that surround us about the pressing issues of post-modern living.

Neon Art has Pop Art and Op Art as its predecessors. Even though Neon Art is not always about pop culture, the pop aesthetic is recurrent at its artworks. The variety of mixed media and installations is what clearly distinguishes Neon Art from the art movements derived from pop culture.

These pieces would be a great way to add pop culture to any home, and represents such a personal form of self- expression. The name Neon Art comes from the vibrant neon colors used in the artworks of the movement.

SBE Entertainment: Assumed Corporate Office Design

As an Interior Designer, my goal is to thrive within the hospitality design industry - designing hotels, restaurants, clubs, bars, and lounges all over the world. I find great pleasure in the cultivation of corporate design as well. When mending both subjects together, I thought I would take the time to put together what I think would be an exceptional space for one of the top hospitality corporations today, SBE Entertainment. Here is what I came up with:

Floor Plan
Power & Communications Plan

Reflected Ceiling Plan
Schematic Renderings

Custom Reception Desk

Elizabeth Taylor: Inside Her Bel Air Estate

I'm sure we all tuned in to watch Lindsay Lohan portray the iconic Elizabeth Taylor last night on Lifetime. While we payed close attention to the set designers work on the film, we noticed that they did a fantastic job reminiscing the decor of Liz Taylor's surroundings. Whether it was the set of Cleopatra, her home, or her yacht - you could feel the essence of glamour that depicts a Hollywood icon. While the television movie was just released, we could not gather photos of the recent set - but here are some special photos of Elizabeth Taylor's actual home in Bel Air.
