Something's Shady

Do away with the boring old white or beige lamp shades! Give a room a new look by switching out your lampshades to add color, pattern, texture, and even control lighting levels. Use fun patterns, geometric prints or bright solid colors to revamp your space. This is easier than a coat of paint to a wall. Here are some fun ideas!

Here are some of our favorites!

1. Flocked Lamp Shade - Yellow  Target (available in stores) ; 2. Lavender Geometric Drum Lampshade $65.00, Etsy; 3.  16" Euro Fitter Paper Drum Shade $59.00, Shades of Light; 4. Quote of the Week!

Kelly Wearstler's Amazing Home Collection

It is no secret I am a huge fan of Kelly Wearstler. She has redefined so much in the design industry that she has inspired a whole new generation of designers. What I love most about her is her risk taking and bold take on interiors as well as a comprehensive understanding of perfect juxtaposition. Her home collection just makes me want to go bankrupt - I want everything. You can buy them at Bergdorf Goodman - her Melrose flagship store - or her online store www.kellywearstler.com Here is a video to learn more about her:

Artists We Love: Damien Hirst

If you do not know Damien Hirst - you are missing out on true beauty. If you have ever dined at Cecconi's in Los Angeles, you could see an original butterfly piece in the main dining hall. For those of you who do not know him, Hirst is an English artist, entrepreneur and art collector. He is the most prominent member of the group known as the Young British Artists (or YBAs), who dominated the art scene in Britain during the 1990s. He is internationally renowned, and is reportedly Britain's richest living artist, with his wealth valued at £215m in the 2010 Sunday Times Rich List. During the 1990s his career was closely linked with the collector Charles Saatchi, but increasing frictions came to a head in 2003 and the relationship ended. Here is some of his work.

The butterfly collection is made with real butterflies and diamond dust.
