Diptyque Candles

Recently, Diptyque has been calling London's Leadenhall Market home. The new store which opened in October was designed by British designer Christopher Jenner. This collaboration is inspired by English patterning and French luxury, and is set in the historic surrounds of Leadenhall market which is well known for its Victorian architecture.

‘The space has been designed to complement rather than impose, incorporating the patterning and detail of classic Victorian design,’ says London-based designer Christopher Jenner.

The new space also encapsulates the history of the brand. The famous oval-shaped label has been used in many places including the light fixture, doorknob, wooden counter, and the metal story boards. Famous for using raw materials to create innovative scents, it only makes sense that natural elements including wood, metal and stone are prominent throughout the space.

Jenner did an amazing job maximizing the spaces height by adding oversize library cabinets accessible by ladder. He has also added unique wallpaper and floral marqueterie to infuse the space with an aesthetic that’s best described as new, but old.

Diptyque candles are one of the best-known and most respected names in luxury candles worldwide. Made only from all natural fragrances and ingredients, Diptyque candles and products have been made the same way for hundreds of years. They are routinely featured in glossy magazines as one of the best candles to buy, and many celebrities count these candles as among their favorites. The Diptyque store began in Paris, at 34 boulevard Saint-Germain, with three friends driven by the same creative passion. Christiane Gautrot, interior decorator, Desmond Knox-Leet, painter, and Yves Coueslant, theatre administrator and set designer. You can shop Diptyque at www.diptyqueparis.com
